David's Catfish House Dothan

Back in 1983, David and Sadie Ross started serving food from their now-famous menu. Nearly a quarter-century later, the catfish and cheese grits have been flying out of the kitchen. The dish was named one of the 100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama Before You Die by the Alabama Bureau of Tourism and Travel for two consecutive years.

Not bad for a mom and pop start-up that began in Waynesboro, Mississippi. Three years after opening and seeing a market in dire need of great food, David and Sadie moved their restaurant to Monroeville, Alabama, where its headquartered today.

David’s Catfish House in Dothan is proud to be a part of the classic Southern Charming David’s Catfish Tradition. our staff is friendly and courteous, our back porch views are relaxing and our food ahderes to the high standards of the original catfish houses! Our batters, breadings, and mixes are made from scratch daily. Likewise, our coleslaw and salads are made from the freshest ingredients available and we proudly serve shrimp, crabclaws, and oysters purchased from Alabama’s Seafood Capital, Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
